  1. Monitor your levels of exposure:-

    If you cannot avoid your exposure to such particles then the duration of exposure should be reduced. Consult a doctor and fix certain time intervals. This will help you to avoid extreme exposure to these particles.

  2. Do not damage materials which contain asbestos:-

    Damaging materials which contain asbestos such as wires, pipes, cement pipes, wallboards, boilers etc. can lead to direct exposure with these particles. Hence, the materials which contain such particles should not be damaged.

  3. Do not dust and sweep near materials which contain asbestos:-

    Dusting and sweeping should be avoided in areas where materials containing asbestos are kept. This will help in avoiding direct exposure to such materials.

  4. Provide employers with appropriate training:-

    A training session should be conducted in order to make the employers understand the harmful effects of asbestos particles and how to stay away from them. Such trainings should be conducted at least once in a year. Such training makes the employers aware of the risk factors caused due to exposure to asbestos materials.

  5. Provide protective gear to prevent direct exposure:-

    In order to avoid constant direct exposure to asbestos, employees should be provided with protective gear such as face masks, hand gloves and other equipments.

  6. Implement regular medical examinations:-

    Regular medical tests should be conducted on the employees in companies where there is direct exposure to asbestos materials. These tests help to diagnose the symptoms of asbestos cancer. If any symptom is observed, the patient should be immediately admitted and the treatment should be started. Treating this tumor at early stages increases the possibilities of survival from this disease.

Exposure to asbestos particles not only causes asbestos cancer but also can result into other diseases like mesothelioma, asbestosis mesothelioma, lung cancer, pleural effusions, etc. These diseases are also considered as life-threatening. Asbestos cancer prevention helps us to understand the preventive measures which throw a limelight on the enormous effects caused by these particles on our body.
