Adequate sleep in night is suggested, however, one can sleep in the day if required. Use of condoms is suggested during sexual intercourse as the body immune system may not be effective to render protection from HPV (human papilloma virus) infection. HPV infection may elevate the cancerous growth, so avoiding it is a preventive step.
  • Follow a healthy lifestyle, and give up smoking or use of tobacco, as this may elevate the cervical cancer recurrence possibilities. Avoiding alcohol is also important to avoid complications of the disease and compliment the treatment medications.
  • Regular follow-ups and treatments are required to treat the symptoms effectively. No delays should be made in the follow-up screening and receiving the therapy of cervix cencer.

Palliative Care for a Cervical Cancer Patient:

Palliative care plays an important role in the life of the patients, who are not responding to any of the curative treatments of the disease. Patient as well as the family is eligible for such a palliative or terminal care.

Palliative care not just focuses on medical care and attention, but also addresses the social, spiritual and emotional needs of the patient. Along with this, the care aims at managing and relieving of the symptoms.

Seeking help from cervical cancer support group is beneficial for the patient. Palliative care does not aim at delaying or quickening the death. It helps the family members of the patient to cope up with the circumstances and own grief.

Palliative care therefore, addresses various issues including the medical concerns such as disease symptoms and non-medical concerns such as distress and pessimism towards the treatment.
