Cancer is the most dreaded word in terms of diseases. But no more, it is fearsome disease. Cancer cure (head and neck cancer cure) and care is available. The only thing is that one must recognize the early signs and symptoms of the cancer and check it with the doctor as early as possible. Early treatment leads to few treatment complications and moreover the treatment is successful and effective.
Now, let us understand the term 'cancer'. Cancer in simple words can be defined as uncontainable growth of cells. These cancerous cells multiply and divide at such a high rate that they start destroying the surrounding normal cells and tissues. The spread of cancerous cells from one body part to the other body part either through bloodstream or through lymph or surrounding cancerous cells is called as metastasis. Extra cells come together to form a tumor. These tumors are of two types- benign tumors and malignant tumors. Benign tumors do not cause any harm to the body and are considered safe whereas malignant tumors are hazardous to the body and are not considered as safe. These malignant tumors are cancerous tumors. Before the tumor spreads to other adjacent cells and tissues, it has to demolish. Head and neck cancer early signs help in conquering cancer when it is in its early stage.
Head and neck cancer early signs:
- The feeling of numbness in the mouth:
The feeling of numbness in the mouth can indicate the cancer of mouth or salivary glands. This feeling generally occurs when one develops fever. But if the symptom is consistent for more than two weeks and you have not developed any other disease, then it is better to consult your doctor as early as possible.
- Hoarseness or change in the voice:
Hoarseness in the voice can be an indication of cancer of larynx or the voice-box. Even, small tumor can cause vocal cords present in the larynx to dysfunction. Hence, hoarseness in the voice can be close and early sign of larynx cancer.
- Noisy breathing or difficulty in the breathing:
Noisy breathing or difficulty in breathing happens when the air passage is not clear and one has to put in some efforts to breathe comfortably. The function of pharynx is also associated with the respiratory system; it can also be a sign of cancer of pharynx. Pharynx is situated at the rear of nasal cavity.
- Bleeding of nose and blockage of nose:
Bleeding of nose and blockage of nose can be signs of the cancer of nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses. It can also be a sign of cancer of pharynx. Bleeding of nose can be due to increase in the body temperature or cold. However, if the bleeding of nose continues for several times in a week, then one must not take chances and assume anything without consulting the doctor. An appointment with your doctor should not be delayed.
- Presence of lump in the mouth or swelling of mouth:
Presence of lump in the mouth or swelling of mouth can be a clue of primary oral cancer. If the symptom is accompanied with appearance of white patches or red patches and lump in the throat, one must show it to the doctor as early as possible. Generally, bleeding of sore throat occurs in the last stage of cancer. Hence, before the cancer reaches the next stage, it has to be treated as soon as possible.
- Lump in the throat:
Lump in the throat can be a sign of larynx cancer.
- Pain in the upper jaw or face
- Double vision or swelling around the eyes
- Pain in swallowing of food can be a sign of cancer of larynx
- Consistent pain in the ear or tinnitus i.e. ringing in the ear
