Heart Cancer Symptoms
Heart Cancer is a tumor that occurs when the malignant tissues attack the cells of the heart. This results into a development of a tumor. This tumor tends to develop rapidly and should be controlled at early stages. The malignant cells developed through this tumor spreads to other parts of the body and in the later stages establish a complete control over the body. Heart cancer symptoms when detected at early stages guarantee a successful elimination of the tumor. Heart cancer is a rare type of a cancer and is generally classified into two types:-
Primary heart cancer is a tumor that gets developed from the normal tissues. Myxoma is considered as the most occurring tissue in primary heart cancer. In this cancer, the origin of the tumor is the heart and from there it spreads to other parts of the body. This cancer can be cured if it is treated at early stages.
Secondary heart cancer occurs when the tumor reaches the stage of severity and gains control over the whole body. In this cancer, the tumor spreads to other parts of the body and then attacks the heart. At this stage, it is very difficult to treat this tumor and the treatment depends upon the widespread of the malignant cells to other parts of the body.
Heart cancer diagnosis is done by conducting several blood tests, X-rays, MRI scans, CT scan and other routine laboratory tests. Special tests conducted to identify heart cancer include Biopsy, Stress test, Tilt table test, Pericardiocentesis and Cardiac
Treatment of this tumor includes various therapies such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and nutrition therapy. Amongst all these treatments, surgery chemotherapy and radiation therapy are widely used as there are less chances of recurrence of heart cancer in these treatments.
Heart Cancer Symptoms are as follows:-
Explanation of Heart Cancer Symptoms:-
Pain in Chest:-
This symptom is considered as the basic symptom of this tumor. When the tumor cells attack the heart they also attack the areas surrounding it. This tumor tends to grow near the pericardium wall and so the fluid of the tumor gets collected in the pericardial sac. This affects the pumping of blood and so a constant pain in the chest is noticed.
As the tumor develops in the heart, it affects the respiratory tract and so breathing problems are noticed. This also affects the blood circulation and the stamina of the body and the person faces problems such as tiredness and uneasiness. So the person finds it very difficult to manage his daily activities.
This tumors further leads to cardiac sarcoma. In this condition, blockages are created which block the blood vessels and so the blood and other nutrients are not able to reach the brain. Sometimes, it also attacks the passages that carry oxygen to the brain and so the person tends to suffer from frequent strokes.
As the blood vessels and the respiratory tract are blocked, the oxygen does not react to the parts of the body. Due to this, the blood circulation gets affected and hence the levels of impure blood in the body rise. This results into swelling in various parts of the body. In the severe stages, this swelling is observed almost in all parts of the body.
As the tumor develops, it blocks the flow of oxygen and blood to heart. This affects the functioning of the heart and may result into a heart attack. This symptom is generally observed in the advanced stages and the attacks are often severe.
Murmuring of heart:-
Lack of oxygen to the heart affects the blood flow and the function of heart. Due to this, there is a different sound produced other than the normal heart beat. This sound is observed because of the increase in the heart beat rate.
Development of this tumor results into lack of oxygen in the body which affects the functioning of blood vessels due to which swelling is observed in the outer layer of the heart. Pericardium is the name of the blood vessels that plays an important role in the functioning of the heart.
Tachycardia is a symptom which is observed in the advanced stages of the tumor. This happens due to increase in the rate of heartbeat.
Due to rapid heartbeat rate the left and right ventricular areas of the heart get enlarged due to which cardiomegaly occurs. This is one of the common symptoms of heart cancer.
Among all these heart cancer symptoms, early stage symptoms include pain in chest, tachycardia, stroke, swelling and murmuring of heart whereas advanced stages symptoms include heart attack, pericarditis and cardiomegaly. Whenever any of these symptoms is observed, please contact your doctor as soon as possible.
