Skin cancer refers to development and growth of abnormal malignant cells in the skin tissues. This cancer mainly occurs due to overexposure to ultraviolet radiations and is mostly seen in people in the age group of 40 to 55 years. According to a research conducted by American cancer society more than 20,000 cases of this cancer are observed on a daily basis. This cancer mainly occurs due to deficiency of Vitamin A and D. It is extremely important to treat this tumor as soon as the skin cancer early signs get noticed.

As this cancer is of rare type there are various research institutions which are working towards spreading awareness of this tumor. Preventive measures for this cancer include applying skin creams which contain a minimum of SPF 15 substance which protects the skin from sunlight. Other measures include use of protective gears such as gloves, hats, sunglasses and shirts with full sleeves which protect our body parts form harmful radiations.

This tumor is mainly classified into three types :-

  • Basal cell carcinoma
  • Squamous cell carcinoma
  • Malignant cell carcinoma

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer which appears fleshy in color. The moles that occur due to this tumor are generally asymmetrical in manner and are in red and pale yellow in color.

Squamous cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that tends to grow at a rapid rate. The patches get developed at the location of the tumor which is crusted red or pale yellow in color.

Malignant cell carcinoma is a type of tumor which is considered as the most rapidly developing tumor. This tumor is of dangerous type and the diameter of the location in this tumor is generally above 4mm.

The main cause of this tumor is overexposure of our body parts to harmful ultraviolet radiations. However, some of indirect causes of skin cancer include:-

  • Consumption of tobacco
  • Smoking
  • Weakened immune system
  • Unhealthy diet
  • HPV infections

Skin cancer early signs are as follows:-

  • Moles in the area of the location
  • Continuous bleeding from the location
  • Ulcers in the area of the location which cause inflammation
  • Change in color of the skin
  • Increase in the number and size of the existing moles

Explanation of skin cancer early signs:-

  • Moles in the area of the location:-

When malignant cells attack a certain location, they tend to generate inflammation in that area. This results into development of moles. These moles are generally red or pale yellow in color. These moles are often confused as minor skin infections and treatment is started accordingly. So it is extremely important to undertake a certain cancer test if any of such early sign is observed.

  • Continuous bleeding from the location :- Continuous bleeding is observed at the area of location. This bleeding is observed because of the wounds. These wounds exist from a long period of time and do not get healed even after several treatment options are used.

  • Ulcers in the infected area which cause inflammation :- The attack of malignant cells results into occurrence of ulcers in the area of the tumor. These ulcers are crust red or pale yellow in color. These ulcers are mainly caused due to the impurity in the levels of blood.

  • Change in color of the skin:-

Change in the color of skin is also considered as the early sign of this tumor. This happens when the malignant cells attack the pigment present in the skin called melanin. This pigment is responsible for normal color of skin.

  • Increase in the number and size of the existing moles :-

When the tumor reaches the severe stages, enlargement in the size of moles is noticed. This generally happens when no treatment is conducted on the tumor.

As this tumor is of a rare type, it is extremely important to spread awareness regarding skin cancer early signs. A research conducted by Canadian Cancer Care shows that 60 percent of the tumors get detected when they have already reached the advanced stages. However, there are rare cases of deaths that occur due to this tumor.
