  • Coughing up of blood

Symptoms of this tumor when diagnosed at early stages help to remove the tumor successfully from the body.

Throat cancer diagnosis is done with the help of following procedures:-

  • X-rays
  • Blood tests
  • Magnetic reasoning test (MRI)
  • Ultra sound test
  • Biopsy
  • Metascopy

Explanation of throat cancer diagnosis:-

  • Physical examination :-

Before performing the diagnosing test, a physical exam is performed on the body. This exam is conducted to examine the overall performance of the body like the heart beat rate, pulmonary functioning of the body, audiograms and heart test. The doctor also examines the medical history which helps him to decide the type of treatment for the cure of the disease.

  • X-rays :-

This is first step towards diagnosing the tumor. X-rays of the throat are developed. These X-rays give a perfect idea about the location of the tumor and its type. X-rays of the tumor are generally used as reference as they help the doctor to select the type of surgery.

  • Blood Tests :-

Before performing a surgery, it is very important to perform a blood test. This test helps to examine whether the tumor is really cancerous. It also helps to understand the widespread of malignant cells throughout the body and thus gives an idea on how much the tumor has damaged the body.

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging test (MRI) :-

It is very important to conduct this test for diagnosing this tumor. In this test, powerful magnets and radio waves are used to detect the location and type of tumor. In this test, pulses of radio waves are emitted throughout the body. These pulses help to develop the pictures of the organs of our body. These pictures are later examined and the location of tumor is detected.

  • Biopsy :-

Biopsy is considered as the most accurate way of detecting this tumor. In this test, a piece of tumor is cut from the location of the tumor. This piece later examined under a microscope with the help of certain chemicals. Various other procedures are also performed on this tumor. This test gives a perfect idea about the type and location of the tumor and also gives an idea about the extent it has spread throughout the body.

  • Metascopy :-

This test involves the use of metascope for diagnosing this tumor. This object is inserted into the area of the tumor. This object emits infrared radiations which help to detect the location of the tumor. Images of this tumor can also be developed with the help of these radiations. This test gives a perfect idea of the type of tumor and its spread throughout the body.

Throat cancer diagnosis had been a major problem in the 80s, as there were no techniques and procedures which gave an accurate idea of the location of the tumor. However, due to recent breakthroughs, there are different procedures available which help to give an accurate idea of the location of the tumor and its spread throughout the body. If the symptoms of this tumor are diagnosed at early stages, the tumor can be removed successfully from the body.
